I think with the right precautions (i.e. different light color for open draw or possible self closure if left open too long) this is a great idea. Here is a question, we are building a staircase to our children's rooms can we make sliding partitions that go up along the wall for storage? Would that effect the integrity of the stairwell (please try to visualize deep cubby holes with doors).
