Places to look for a branch like this

Hi there,
I've been wanting to use a branch as a curtain rod for a while. I was surprised i wasn't the only! (Beautiful job btw)...but i cant seem to find, i've done all kinds of store, the forest etc...where did you find this? and if you did find it in the forest, is there anything you did to the branch to make sure there are no bugs in there?
