Do you live near trees? Could it be a squirrel or racoon or something like that? Rabbits get my plants, but they are ground level.

trees are around, but none that are near or touch my balcony. I set out some rat poison last night, and a trap with peanut butter, either I set the trap wrong, or he is a clever little monster, ate the peanut butter clean and trap is still set, lol. Rat poison is gone however...

Im thinking I might try some cheyanne pepper and water mixture, to spray on the plants. Dont think it would harm the plants at all. Any ideas on that?

if the cayenne is thoroughly dissolved in the water you should be okay, but if it dries to a powdery coating on your plants, don't do it! If any gets in the eyes of your plant nibbler they will be in extreme pain. Some animals may even attempt to scratch their eyes out. So please try something else gross-tasting first. Like mustard perhaps.

I think I'd be very careful with the rat poison too. At least until you are sure what it is that is eating your plants.
