Zone 10, 2 miles fr beach. Town house w/ patio/backyard 15'x50', north of my 2-story building. Considered part-shade. Gets sun late-mornings/early-afternoon (sun passes over next building) than sun very late afternoon. The 15' is E-W and 50' N-S.

I have an "L" shaped built-in, raised 20"h planter, 24"w. It's 15'x10'x2".

*NEED* ADVICE FOR: 1)ornamental in cornor 2)privacy on either side of ornamental!

GOAL,... privacy! For corner of planter: ornamental tree/shrub,(my perfect choice evergreen, hopefully) multi-trunk, low-water, non-invasive roots (planter: bottom open into earth) YIKES! I need to make right decisions!

Consideration: Bottle Brush(messy?) Arbutus Marina (slow n too much trunk). Decideous: CrapeMyrtle (slow growing?)Black Japanese Maple (r they hard 2 grow in R.B.?)Prunis(good color,many interior sm branches) What others do you believe would work for me???

On either side of tree: Pittosporun "Silver Sheen"(alittle too open)"Tenuifolium"(seems ok)
