I have two Black and Blue Salvia in pots for my hummingbirds. Both have off shoots from the mother roots.

I cut one off and repotted it, just to see it die in three days. I have another one that's bigger, three inches tall and five across.

How big should it be before cutting it away? How should I take care of the new plant?
