Hi! I'm a little ahead of you. You should be repotting just as buds begin to swell, but in real life we often have too many trees and too busy a life to get the timing perfect. You can repot earlier if you can protect the trees from freeze and gradually get them out into the weather when lows start staying above freezing.

You can do the Spruce early before the buds open or you can wait and do it in the middle of the summer, my favorite time.
