My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
If gr. 11 bio served me correctly, a lot of the hormones increase growth by encouraging cell elongation, not necessarily the type of growth you want for your bonsai. If you're in a very early training stage and need to thicken the trunk, certain hormones (in moderation) might help.
What specific parts of producing bonsai are you thinking about?
Amo-1618 reduces hight and Cycocel reduces internode length, increaces bud set and intensifies color(in azaleas, hydrangeas). B-Nine, another hormone, shortens internodes and darkens foliage color. I was just asking about moral standings on using them to regulate size and growth.
I've got down auxins, abiscic acid, and ethene :) So does that mean that no one thinks that it is unethical to use them to produce unnaturaly enhanced bonsai?
I could care less about ethics, it's performance that matters to me:-).
I used cycocel on tropical hibiscus years ago in the trade. Two things I noticed. It retarded growth and shortened the lifespan of the plants.
A normal hibiscus bloomed more profusely over the season than what a cycocel treated plant did. Where a normal limb might put on a foot of growth over a season, a cycocel treated plant might grow 2 inches.
I personally believe it ruined some of my spectacular specimen plants and lead to their untimely demise.
Sounds like you used too much. Cycocel is a gibberelin inhibitor. Gibberelins control stem elongation, fruit set, and germination. If cells couldn't divide, they would soon expire, effectively shortening the life of you hibiscus ;(
