Hello all,

I'm hoping some one can help me here. I have a south facing balcony in Las Vegas, NV. The air temp here gets up to 120 degs. and the deck gets so HOT I can't go out there without fireman boots on. I need vine that can grow up the small vertical posts that make up the railing without using any kind of lattice (Damned HOA) to fill the gaps in the railng and shade the deck. I have been unsuccessful with Jasmine, cat's claw and algerian ivy. They won't grap onto the the rails because they are vertical (see Photo link below). Does any one know what will grow on this type of railing?
