It might be the cat again. They are pretty good climbers, and they are naturally nocturnal. Maybe someone can suggest a good cat repellent.

I just can't see cats eating impatiens. This must be some underfed alleycat! Try setting out catfood, see if it's eaten instead, and you'll know it's a cat. u probably don't have opossums in the city, right? They are omnivores, and will eat ANYTHING. A good cat and opossum repellent? A dog! Hope it works out for you.

I can't see cats eating them either. Your pest control probably caught a cat because be baited the trap with something a cat would like...
I would suspect an opossum or raccoon before a cat.

WOW- I love this Thread- its a true "who dun it". My bet is on the rats- the other critters are too big and leave signs. Imps are 95% water. Try putting out an alternate water source. Good Luck and keep us informed! ( and heaven help you if its rats;))

Get a bag full of chili pepers. Gring them in your coffee mill.
(Wear mask if sensative, otherwise you may sneez ALOT!)
Now put it in one of those plastic herb shakers and sprinkle around your garden to deter deer, rabbit, ..
It can also keep the sqruills away.
But you have to re-apply after rain.
