Fritillaria

Well, it has been a horrible year for the Frits I am afraid!! We were so warm in Jan that everything started to grow in the pots and then we got really cold in Feb. so everything got messed up in terms of light and temps. This caused most of my Frits to put on a disappointing show or to bag the flowering altogether. I do have a couple that are only growing now and so are happy. The first to put on a decent bloom is my standard form of Fritillaria sewerzowii:

My 'Gulliver' variant of F. sewerzowii got confused by the weather and is almost dormant already. All of my melagris were also fooled as well as a few others.

I did get two massive seed pods on my F. aurea so the question is has anyone raised Frits from seed?? Any advice on how to do this would be most appreciated for this particular species. I have never bothered with seed before, but this is a lovely little dwarf so I would like to give it a try.

Hopefully in the near future a few others will cooperate and I can post a couple of extra pics :o) Dan
