Planting zinnias

A friend gave me 8 zinnia seedlings for my garden. They are tall and leggy and I'm wondering about transplanting them into the garden. Can I plant them a little deeper like I do with leggy tomato plants, or will that kill them? What do you think? Thanks!

I always plant my leggy zinnias deep enough that the plant can support itself... in other words yeah just like tomatoes...

what other annuals can be planted this way? cosmos is almost alway leggy when i purchase it -- could this be done with them??

Yes roxanna, you can do this for Cosmos, Sunflowers, Impatiens, Dahlia, Amaranths, Celosias, Portulaca etc etc
