Hi, A ficus would suit both your wishes, but may need to be indoors in winter (I don't know how cold winter nites get there), and juniper can grow in TX as long as you take proper care of it, like propping a white tile against the pot to keep sun from cooking the roots. Hard to suggest a windbreak, shelter or even display area without having any idea of your personal set-up (but post a pic. if you can).

Well I was thinking about getting a Fukon Tea tree and something else, but I don't know if you can raise a Fukon Tea Tree inside, since I know that you can't raise a juniper inside under lightes or can you. Also I was thinking about growing a Texas Ebony out side and was wondering if it would live.

The shelter thing is I would try building it on the west side of my house and was wondering if I could just build a shelf that leaned against my house, but the white tile thing would be a good thing for the juniper and also would it be a good thing for all the other bonsais I would be growing outside.

Most Fukien tea live indoors all the time, except for the summer - they're tropical, juniper isn't. Texas ebony are born, live and die every day in TX, so why shouldn't yours?

So what your saying is that if I got a Fukien tea I could grow it inside under lights and put my juniper outside with the white tiles around the baise so I don't cook the roots and it would live and grow. Then the Texas ebony would thrive in my bonsai gardin.

About the Juniper could they really grow and not die if it was outside in the heat beacouse I would think it would be a better house plant.

Hey Now, weather or not it thrives is up to you, you have to treat em right remember.

You kind of don't seem to want to believe us - your juniper will die a lot faster from trying to live indoors than it will outdoors, heat or no heat. You can do whatever you want, obviously, but those are facts dictated by nature, and Brendan's right, you have to take care of them properly otherwise for them to do well, location's only part of it.
