These will have a 12"-18" spread, so technically one would fill the pot. For a faster fill, I'd go with 3. These zinnias play well with others, so any sun loving item works - maybe something to cascade over the edge of the pot. You didn't say what color of Profusion you purchased, so it's hard to make specific recommendations

I'm thinking of getting two more. Any recommendations for colors?

And what can you suggest for a cascading annual to plant with them? They will be in full sun.

You could use a Red Sensation Cordyline or a coleus that has the colors of the zinnias in it as a centerpiece in your pot, then add one of these as a nice spiller: blue torenia, blue scaveola, a sweet potato vine, either purple or lime green, or yellow creeping jenny.

Are you in PA? My personal favorite Profusions are the Cherry and Orange (both AAS winners). Blue scaevola and sweet potato vines would work well, as would various helichrysum (silver foliage) or Dichondra Silver Falls.

There were no AAS winner Profusion Zinnias at our nurseries this year, darn it....I've always had good luck with AAS plants. Last year I had Profusion Cherry, but this year I had to take "Profusion Double Cherry" and I'm hoping it's as good.

Do you think I could put one Profusion , one something else, and also one sweet potato vine all in a 12" pot? I know that the sweet potato vines love lots of water, and the zinnias like dry soil? Anyone actually tried this combination?

donnabasketsm, thanks for the suggestion of using coleus as a centerpiece. I like that idea for the double cherry zinnias.

Glad you always have good luck with AAS winners. I happen to be an AAS judge and Board Member :-)
I put SPV in containers with everything - including verbenas which REALLY like it dry, so it shouldn't be a problem with the Zinnia. I would throw in a blue scaevola, Zinnia profusion and an SPV. I'm in Lancaster County

Goblugal, being an AAS judge and board member must be very interesting. As I said, I've never been disappointed in AAS flowers and veggies.
Yesterday I went to another nursery and got the AAS Profusion Cherry (had already bought the double cherry, non-AAS), and the AAS Profusion white, which I've grown before.
I've never grown scaevola but I'll give it a try.
