I keep it as a houseplant only because it's too windy in my area to keep it protected from breakage.
They grow taller in shade and shorter more compact in sun..also in shade the backsides of the leaves will not be as intense purple.
They are in the Mint family and cuttings root very easily :D

Boy, I've been tempted by that one! If it's a mint should be easy enough. Maybe I'll have to get one now....

They do very well here and like some afternoon shade. I overwintered one in a pot 2 years ago. I also find that they stop blooming when it gets very hot, here that would be July and August but pick up again when it cools down. I do like them ...but in my area I can get a similar effect in the ground with nepeta walker's low or some of the salvias and they come back, of course.
I didn't buy one this year but I probably will again sometime.
