If you are talking about Moonflower vine, it is hardy down south but I have seen it come back in Colorado in the wild so it must re-seed. There is a forums for Moonfower here on this site so it might be best to look there for more information and pictures.

It's easy. It's fast to bloom. The blooms open only at night and close when the sun comes out. It's fragrant. It does reseed, but not reliably if you use mulch. Pest free too.

I grew moon vine for the first time last year and I loved it! It was in poor soil in partial shade and did beautifully. The flowers were huge and the fragrance was intoxicating! I think it would grow such fine in a pot. No reseeding for me.

Sure, I don't see why it won't do fine in a pot. Just be sure not to put too many plants to grow comfortably and provide it with a trellis, string, or post, etc. to climb. It is a lovely plant. You'll like it!

I'm thinking of using moonflowers in pots, too. I'd like to grow them over a metal arbor I found. Do they attract a lot of bees?

There's not much going on in the moon garden forum, so that's why I'm checking here. Any pictures?

They attract more nighttime pollinators like moths than bees, since they bloom at night. If you have ever seen a morning glory on a trellis, that's a pretty good picture of what moonflowers look like, though the vines are not quite as large. I believe the foliage is a bit darker green too.

There is a Forum for Moon Flower plants and there was a picture there of a large arbor.
