The 2nd plant is Chameleon plant, Houttuynia cordata. Pretty but VERY invasive, never plant it in your perennial beds, it will go rampant! It loves moist soil and spreads quickly through underground runners. Not sure what the first is, but I like it!

Thanks Jen. A neighbor said the first could be 'touch me not'.

The first plant looks like a balsam plant, Impatiens balsamina. It is a reseeding annual. I think I read somewhere that balsam was the original impatien and that the shade plants that we think of as impatiens today was bred from balsam.
