Okay, I finally have some cleome. I have learned that pruning a stalk will make more stalks come in its place. I have two in this section. One I cut back when it was small and it put out three extra stalks, making 4 blooms on the one plant, the other I did not. The one I did not has only one stalk with a bloom on it, and its as big and tall as the other.

My question is about deadheading now that they're so tall. I like them the size they are. When I deadhead these, should I cut off the bloom and the seedpods. I just dont want to cut to low and make a smaller version. I already made that mistake with some others I have. They've been in the ground longer and nowhere near as tall.

I want these to continue blooming and I feel it is to early to let them go to seed. I want to enjoy them longer. By cutting right below the bloom, and removing all seedpods when it branches back out, will it be just as tall or no, and where should I cut?

Also, by just removing the seedpods alone, and not the bloom will it branch out or not?
