Growing Cosmos

Growing double rose bon bon cosmos growing in large pots and they wont fully open, but they are in full sun. it's such a tease, and they have millions of blooms waiting to burst i dont want them all to be half open, especially because they die so quickly. Only one has come to full bloom. has anyone else attempted growing these or have any ideas? thanks

how frequently you watering them?

actually my friend had a bad experience with cosmos by watering them daily, her plants became 5 feet tall with lush green foliage, bloomed very late with small and few flowers, while mine produced abundant blooms while remaining within 3 feet, i use to water them weekly and we shared the same seed packet of Cosmos bipinnatus and we grew them in ground.
