I've tried growing stocks in the past, only to be dissappointed. Previously, I purchased plants but this year I started mine from seed. I don't know if that made a difference, but they are doing great this year. I suspect the cool, rainy weather is the real reason why they look so good. As soon as it gets hot, they'll probably shrivel up. But, right now they are so pretty and fragrant, that I know I'll keep growing them from now on. One question though: How do I insure that my seedlings are double flowered? Out of the plants I grew from seed, they are all double except for one, a white single. I have to say, its not impressive looking compared the the doubles. I've read on a seed website that sometimes the seedlings of singles are pale green. But, all my seedlings were the same color. For future reference, I'd like to know if there's any way to just get doubles.
