The leaves look like stock........matthiola incana. Do they smell wonderful?

I don't think that's it. I just did a Google image search on matthiola incana, which appears to be a stalky plant (like a snap dragon) with more symmetrical flowers. As far as the smell goes, it does'nt have an aroma at a distance, and I've never stuck my nose in them :-)

It looks like stock to me, too. Check out the linked image. I think it looks very much like your plant.

It does look similar to the picture in that link, but when I look at other pictures, it seems a little different. I think I'll take a cutting to the nursery to find out for sure. I'll report back.

OK, I took another look at the actual plant this morning instead of comparing pictures, and stock it is! Thanks, you guys are good! I also stuck my nose in it and it smells good. I'll give the evening whiff a try too. :-)
