Before all the rain we've been having mine were drooping from the top until I watered them more especially in the heat wave. That happened before the rain storms because people were cautioning me not to water too much.

Now they're drooping because the flower heads are probably soaked and apparently too heavy for the stems.

Maybe the starter plants I bought weren't strong enough. I've staked a few that were leaning precariously. I've planted out the seedlings I started from seed. If they make it to "big plant" status I'll see if they're stronger than the starters I bought and planted.

Those very long lasting flower heads are glorious and there's a lot of them. The plants are branching out and much fuller than I thought. Thank goodness this is one plant (don't want to jinx myself) in which deer, rabit & groundhog don't seem to be interested.

The little trumpet flowers on Nicotiana are getting pummeled by rain and look rather ratty. They're so delicate. I'm deadheading the spent blooms to spiff up the appearance but critters like their foliage though not the blooms.

I'm trying to figure out where the seed is on all the annuals for next year's sowing but figure I have time for all the annuals that will bloom for a while so I don't need to let every single bloom dry on the plant to collect seed.

They are dry.....water them.
