Torenia! Not just any torenia but the Proven Winners brand in particular, tho some other brands have been quite good too.

I used to grow plain old torenia from seed and they were just ok but these newer torenias are robust, packed with flowers all season, trail beautifully and are A+ plants in containers.

They come in different shades of blue, purple and pink. Maybe others but that's what I buy. Some are bi-colored but I don't like bi-colered flowers.

No deadheading, no pests or diseases, no trouble at all--just lots of fertilizing to keep those flowers coming. And they take a lot of shade too.

PS--Agree with you. Callibrachoas, or million bells, have done great for me too.

Vincas. I believe the trailing variety is "Mediterranean" series. Also like sweet potato vine.

Ivy geraniums, ivy, licorice plant, swan river daisies

I like some greenery in hanging planters and I especially like the ivy geraniums. They can be saved from year to year just like the zonal ones, I grow a few all winter and take cuttings in the fall

I heartily agree with torenia. I found a beautiful Proven Winners white form (with a prominent yellow dot in the throat) last year that I liked so much, I took cuttings and overwintered it. The Proven Winners are all trailers, whereas some of the other varieties are more upright. In my area, torenia has to have afternoon shade.

I love scaevola in full sun. For blooms, nothing else I have tried beats it.

Also a white variegated plectranthus commonly known as Mexican oregano. It looks great all season long.

I really like Helichrysum petiolare / Licorice Plant in its silver blue leafed variety for a foliage trailer.
