I'm looking for info on Pinus Eldarica--aka Mondell Pine, Afgan Pine. I can't find anything except that this two-or-three needle pine is vigorus and extremly hardy. I'd like to know how they respond to pinching and decandeling, how well they backbud, what other pines they share similarities with, ect. Thanks for any info.
I have been gathering as much information as I can on Pinus eldarica and have quite an extensive collection of written materials. Pinus brutia ssp. eldarica is a hardy drought-tolerant pine, native to Afghanistan, fairly common in the American desert southwest. I do not know specific grower information such as "how they respond to pinching and decandeling, how well they backbud" etc., because I have only started growing them a few months ago. They share similarities with Pinus brutia and Pinus halepensis. EDVcorp@aol.com
