When I went home yesterday, I saw several marigold flowers lying on the floor. It looked like someone had just broken them right below the flower's base. There were a number of birds in my yard yesterday evening so I am wondering if it is the birds who have done so?

Some flowers looked partially eaten. Or is it some other animal who has done that. I have grown marigolds for few years but this is first time that I saw something like this happen.

Would be interested in knowing if someone else has had similar experience.
