Fence and rabbits

Earlier this spring I planted a Blvd garden with small seedlings of zinnia, celosia and marigolds. In one night the rabbits mowed everything down. I replanted, but this time enclosed the whole garden with a low, chicken wire fence. Success!! The rabbits didn't get in.

Now the question:

Would it be OK to remove the fence now that everything is almost mature? I've heard rabbits probably won't bother with the tougher leaves of these plants. I've also noticed they haven't chewed any of the leaves growing through the fence.

Thanks

Kevin
