Myosotis sylvatica Forget-Me-Nots, although you'll have to encourage longer bloom time by trimming spent blooms.

Or how about Cannas, they love wet feet.

Maybe you can also get some Lobelia cardinalis growing in there too ;)

Gerbera daisies are annuals and they're real water hogs. That's why I don't grow them! Lucky you for having a wet spot!

I should've mentioned that this area receives at least six hours of direct sun in the summer, and is probably about 12' wide and deep. I have plenty of room for more annuals, if other people have some ideas!

Mimulus like damp conditions... but they can be a bit small and insignificant unless planted en masse.

Don't mimulus prefer shade? I grew them in my last garden in dappled shade and loved them, but I've assumed that they'd fry in my sun. If they're okay with full sun, hot dog! I'd love to have them in the forefront of the plantings!

Yes, mimulus like a fair bit of shade, and they die off in high heat. As far as I'm concerned, they're like violas and pansies; forget about them once summer rolls around. Beautiful, beautiful bloom, though. I once tried to substitute them for impatiens, just for a nice change. They were gorgeous until the thermometer hit 80 and stayed there.

I guess I was lucky when I planted mimulus; they looked good throughout most of the summer, as I remember. But if they're going to act like pansies and crap out on me partway through the season, I don't have any time for them. Pity, though... thanks anyway, ornata!
