phoenix red penstemon

I have been trying to find out where to get seeds or a start of this plant. Lowe's has it, it is almost $30. I have read that it is an annual, thus pretty pricey for an annual. I also have read that it is a perennial. Has anyone grown this or know anything about it?

You won't finds seeds - this hybrid is produced from cuttings. Are you sure on that $30 price? Sounds mis-marked to me! It is hardy to zone 5 - you should have no trouble growing it as a perennial.
