Just to help some of you out. Rouge is referring to the organism that causes Downy Mildew disease on impatiens.

Reading led me to precautions listed re this: Remove the diseased plants, including plant parts (leaves/stems/flowers) that have fallen from the plant. Dispose of all these materials. Do not put them into the compost.

I haven't seen it yet on my impatiens.

eahamel, you are one of the lucky ones. From what I've read, strenuous efforts are being made by the growers and the retailers to halt sales of any plants suspected of having this. And it's not affecting plants everywhere, but is widespread. Some interesting reading available to you on Google - I just used IMPATIENS DOWNY MILDEW for my search.

I didn't plant impatiens, but observed at a family member's here in the Atlanta metro area. Huge area wiped out.
