I was just in the Pacific Northwest on Vacation and visited Butchart Gardens. FABULOUS! They had masses of Lady Slippers in beds and in hanging baskets. The blooms were bright yellow and also orange. I asked one of the gardeners and he said they are Cyprepedium. I have never heard of an annual Lady Slipper, but feel sure these must be annuals for them to have used them so freely in temporary plantings. Anyone know about this plant? IF there was a chance of growing them here, I'd love to, because they were gorgeous.
