No, the trait likely won't be passed along in seeds with that kind of mutation, since the mutation usually occurs at the growing point of that particular branch, or along some other growing point on a branch in the rapidly-dividing undifferentiated tissue. When breeders find a mutation on one branch (normally called a sport) they vegetatively propagate cuttings from the sported branch because the genetic material on that branch will be different than the other branches.

I have had mums sport out on me, poinsettias, etc. The breeders who grew the cuttings from which these plants were grown, owned the 'future' of the sports, because I had signed a license with them to use their breeding material. However, I have had mums where the entire plant was different than either parents, from cross breeding and was in contact with one company who was interested. Those may possibly......reproduce a similar plant from seed but even then not likely without further inbreeding.
