I just started growing 'Choco Sun' dwarfs a few weeks ago.

Would love to know if anybody else has tried these.

I grow Pacino dwarf sunflowers for a potted crop. They are just the right size with three of them in an 8" pot. What variety you grow will most likely be chosen by how tall you want them to be at bloom time. I find the Pacino go around 18" and the blooms are very nice. I'd call them floral quality, could use them for arrangements.

I've also grown Pacino and have been very happy with it in pots on the patio. Another dwarf I like is Big Smile.

I tried Choco Sun this year but lost the seedlings in the wet spring. I'll be trying them again next year.

P.S. Before I hit the submit button, I sat here trying to remember if it really was Big Smile, because Sunny Smile also stuck in my mind. I checked my records, and turned out there is a sunflower by each name, and I grew both! Sunny Smile, if I remember correctly (and it's entirely possibly I'm not, lol) was a very dwarf sunflower, while Big Smile was a bit taller. Both were quite nice.

Irish Eyes sunflowers grow easily in or out of containers, and are beautiful. Most pictures incooectly show their petals as a lemon yellow, but they are a golden yellow. They generally have one relatively large flower head, and many small branching flowers.
