I can't advise about the seeds, but I can tell you that Duranta is extremely easy to start from cuttings. Take 4 to 6 inches off the stem tip, cut away the lower leaves and stick the cutting into moist potting soil. Set in the shade and keep it watered. It will root in a matter of a month or less. I do this every fall and overwinter the cuttings indoors. I plant them in my beds in the spring and in no time, they are three feet high and wide.

I have never heard of purple duranta. Are the leaves purple or the blooms?
