There are several with deep red leaves and red plumes....I have some in my garden now....but unfortunatly don't know what it was I planted!...:(
They are great in a mass planting!....I just look until I find the red leaves on a pack of plants!

The 'Kimono' Red is a bronze leaf variety, available from Stokes Seeds.

TRichard, do you grow your own plants from seed? If not, maybe you could practice with celosia, it is very easy, doesnt have to get started until April 1st, and you may have better performance from your own.

The bronze leaves with red flowers looks fantastic with 'Crystal' zinnias, in all colors of orange, yellow, and white. The Crystals grow to just the right height in front of them to be the perfect edger.

The old standard of red foliaged dwarf celosia plumosia was "new look". It's a very robust plant and the foliage looks as good as the flower. I believe you have more than a few choices in dark foliage anymore. Such nice plants.
