Could be 'Fishnet Stockings'. Be sure to take a bunch of cuttings so that you can grow them over the winter to plant next year.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. That coleus is beautiful but not the one I have. The one I have is bright lime green with burgundy veining. The veining is not as prolific as the one in 'Fishnet Stocking'. I kept it as a houseplant, pinched it back and it is growing and branching without any help from me. Marg

I found my coleus! It's called 'Gay's Delight'. I had mentioned to my neice that I wanted to i.d. this coleus and she found this site for me. I didn't realize there were so many kinds of coleus. The site is coleusfinder.org. Marg

I haven't done that before but think I might like to try. What exactly do you do? Just put some of them in small pots in a sunny inside location and treat them like houseplants until next spring?

After I pinch mine back, I stick the cuttings in a glass of water and they root quickly. If I have the plant in the garden and its not to big, I dig up the whole plant, trim off some of the roots and prune back some of the top and pot it up in a clay pot. I also spray the plant and water the soil with insecticidal soap to kill any insects. Marg

they can stay in water all winter without getting moldy?????

It's ALWAYS preferable to root and grow them in potting mix.

For heaven's sakes, don't buy coleus NOW! You'll have to winter them over.
Deal cautiously with Glasshouse Works. There are sites with customer feedback that you can read.
If you DO choose to order from them, get your order in about February or even late January. They often propogate their plants AFTER an order is received, and that delays the order considerably.

You aren't affiliated with Glasshouse Works, are you? They are in Ohio.
I did not accuse them of being crooked. The quality of the plants they send out varies wildly, and they often take a LONG time to fulfill an order because if they don't have plants already rooted they start cuttings after you order, which can slow things down considerably.
You might be interested in visiting their place, if you can find it. It's near Stewart, Ohio.
