I have good results with Select Seeds and Onalee. Good germination, nice selection and fast shipping.

I have ordered from Parks over the years and am generally satisfied with them, so I won't hesitate to buy from them again. I also buy some seeds from Burpee. I like some of Burpee's zinnias and their seedless tomatoes. Johnny's Selected Seeds have been dependable for me, as have Stokes Seeds. For when I want to buy more than a few seeds, I have found that Hazzards have a wide selection and good quantity prices. They are a wholesale seed house, but they don't have a minimum order and will sell to anyone. I occasionally buy from several other online seed sources.

Stokes Seeds is my vendor of choice. I have also ordered from Swallowtail Seeds and Select Seeds with excellent product received.

When I ordered seed I used Stokes. I've no recent experience but mxk3 above gives me confidence they may still be good. If you are in the Southwest or Mountain West consider High Country Gardens.

I buy from several places. I can never seem to find everything I want at just one company.

I particularly like Nichols Garden Nursery. They give a generous amount of seed for the price, have excellent service, and one of the best, widest selections of any catalog I have seen.

I also order from Parks, Johnny's Select Seeds, Select Seeds (flowers), and very occasionally from Burpee, which I find to have some of the highest prices going.

I just recently placed my first order from Swallowtail Seeds. I was very impressed with their selection. They are carrying a number of new plants that I will be eager to try. And, they are having a free shipping promotion for a $30 order. Just in case you're interested, here's what I got: PORTULACA, TOUCAN HOT MIX; ANGELONIA, SERENA BLUE and SERENA LAVENDER PINK (pelleted); VINCA, CORA DEEP LAVENDER HYBRID; SUNFLOWER, IKARUS; BEANS, FORTEX; TOMATOES, JULIET; ZINNIA, SUNBOW MIX. They also have the Fizzy pansies, for which I had already ordered from Hazzards.

And finally, I order alot from Hazzards. (I believe my first recommendation came from Al. Thanks, Al! As always, you were spot on.) I tend to plant in masses: 20 flats of pansies each fall and usually a minimum of five flats of a kind for my summer beds. Hazzard's service is excellent, their selection very large, and their prices unbeatable. I would highly recommend them. Their packets come in quantities of 250 and 1000 of a kind. Keep in mind that if you want to do seed trades, you can buy one of Hazzard's big packages, use what you need, and trade the rest for other things.

Honestly, the only seed company with whom I have ever done business, with which I was unhappy was Thompson and Morgan. They have a fantastic catalog, but year after year I had an enormous amount of trouble getting decent germination rates. I thought it was me. And then I saw on this forum somebody else comment on this. So, the next year I ordered elsewhere, and have never had any other germination problems.

I bought all my seeds from Ebay sellers around the globe, US. Canada, Hongkong, UK, Ireland, Thailand. Mainly US and UK. Prices are much cheaper than most of the seed companies on the web.

I love Nichols as well. I've ordered many types of seeds through them, and each year try something brand new, and they pretty much never fail. The packets have a very generous amount of seeds in them, and their prices are great. They have some very unique things available, too. This year I tried Hyacinth Bean Vine, and they were amazing! The only thing I never have luck with is Moonflowers.

Monsanto has been buying lots of seed companies, so my new policy is to only patronize those not affiliated with Monsanto. Next time I order any, I will check that first.

I know that there has to be seed companies that are great, but I went through a few with bad germination results. Then I found Geoseed. Great results, BEST prices. Couldn't be happier with their service. Low $4 shipping. Huge selection.
I stopping shopping around after I used them. Why bother with anyone else.
Tip: It's better to download their massive pricelist/catologue. Call them and ask how.
Since they are more for growers you have to look up planting instructions and you wouldn't get pictures or bs hype in the seed list.

GEOSEED Rocks!! We loved Johnny's, but they lost us as a customer because of their HIGH shipping costs. For exm. it was nothing for us to order $60 in seeds, well that will cost you $12.25 in shipping. That was enough for us to say enough! Great seeds though...we miss
them:(

This is my first time trying Swallowtail Seeds. I did the free shipping with $30 purchase. (yes. I ordered extra just for free shipping. I succumbed to temptation.)
Early in the season, but by summers end I will know how I like them. So far the seeds I HAVE started came up very quickly and thick too.
