Only plant them in Fall/Winter, give them nice loamy soil with excellent drainage. They like a bit of extra bone meal. They will probably die in your hot summers--they are perennial where summers are cooler but winters are moderately warmish (Zone 7 and above).

Plant pansys organically????
Get your self an organic shovel and go to it!
Organic means that you use only natural things....no chemical fertilizers, just organics like manure and fish fertilizer....

My pansies/viola are annuals for me here in zone 5b-6a...I have the Johnny Jump-up's. Once you plant them you will always have them as the self-sow like no tomorrow. They start blooming very early spring into July then dwiddle down in the heat.
