Well, today I was out and saw a clearance sign "Penstemons 25 cents" - well, not being as well versed about plants as i would like to be, i thought ALL penstemons were perennials. I read the label of the plant - which is a healthy green with a stem full of seeds - and it just reads "penstemon"...

I asked the lady at Lowe's and she said she thought they were annuals (no information on the card), but that last year she said customers related back to her that they came back!

They were only a quarter - do you think I should try and over winter them in their pots, or plant them out - cover well - and see if they come back? I am not so sure how to handle them and i did buy a few since they were only a quarter - and of course, I was thinking they were perennials until the final purchase.
