Thanks for the replies...is there a common name that I can refer to when I go to a garden center?

Will this plant survive the winter if I move it to the garage?

For cuttings, snip below leaf or take some root? I'd love to be able to start several new plants for next fall if it is possible.

Some people call it licorice plant but you are always better off with the scientific name. Helichrysum is usually enough. Pronounced "hell-i-CHRIS-um", no harder to say than chrysanthemum. There are forms with different sized leaves and different colors. It does grow rampantly and, tho often used in window boxes etc, can completely take over the space.

I took cuttings and rooted them in water. You could also take rooted sections and repot them. You may want to quarantine any plants you bring in from outdoors because of insect hangers-on. Maureen
