That's "Silver Cup", isn't it? It's beautiful!

I love lavatera, but it's not commonly grown here, and I've never seen it for sale at a local nursery. I normally start mine from seed, very easy to start.

Problem is, they peter out after that first blooming cycle. For me, that fabulous display lasts about a month, and it's joyous every time I look out the window :0)

I've tried making subsequent plantings, but I think you're right - they just don't do that great during the dog days of a Michigan summer.

"Silver Cup" is on my seed order list for the upcoming season. I have the perfect spot for them where they will be front and center stage while the perennials are filling in, and by the time the perennials (namely, the Joe Pye Weed) crowd them out, the display will be over anyway - perfect combination.

I've never tried the white variety, but I'm sure it's lovely. The "Silver Cup" is just such a perfect shade of pink, though - I just love it! :0)

Not sure of the variety there were 2 seed blends that went into the area this came up in. I also thought it closely resembles 'Silver Cup'
