I planted 12 tubers from Gurney's last year, and have about a bushel if you need a start. In case you don't know, they should be planted 2' apart and will grow about 8' tall. No insect problems. Taste is very similar to a sweet carrot, texture like water chestnut. We like to make slaw out of them.

I'd love a start! Just lemme know what I need to do. :)

She bought them from some health food store last year, so they'll definitely get eaten and we've got lots of space for them.

This flower is widely known in the south as a' Perennial Sunflower' also as a 'Swamp Sunflower'.....Alot of home gardeners have Jerusalem Artichoke and don't even realize it!!!

I certainly didn't!! It was given to me at a plant swap a few years ago as 'perennial sunflower' It was only last year I found out it is actually the Jerusalem Artichoke....heheh

Unfortunately, I no longer have enough to swap...I moved this past fall and only took enough to get a new start in the new garden.

I've been looking for them for a while also and ended up with a nice trade of them, however they froze on the way in the mail as they went parcel post instead of priority. So they were gooey muck when I received them.

I have lot of them. I planted a hundred feet of them in my garden now the row is 6ft. wide.
