I would love to clear up the discussion of this desk. I am P & L Painting and Decorating. When I designed this for my client i knew he had a love for all things contemporary and Japanese. I decided to marry the two ideas. I researched and found the largest river in Japan is the Shinano. The river design was not etched, but instead the topography of the river was built in bulk on the underside with blocks of melded glass. Therefore creating a smooth surface on top for workability but a stunning view of Japan's glorious Shinano River underneath. The brushed nickel bar across the front conceals a LED light bar that is controlled by rheostat. When light is on it washes across desk top lighting up the river and leaving the land a different shading and texture. Yes, if you look closely you can see the clients name but it is in Japanese, not Chinese. It was a fun collaboration between
P &L Painting and Decorating, Signature Art Glass and Busby. Eric at Signature Art Glass says it can be used for kitchen counter tops.
