Have you thought about using the rock to build your house? Or build a fence with it or pathways or patio or driveway, etc.

I see you are in Conn. News had on a guy that bought some property up that way & he had all kinds of rock, he took some to a rock quarry & they went nuts & paid him a fortune for it. I'm not saying that will happen to you but it would be worth taking a couple of pieces to a Nursery, quarry etc & see if it is a "good" rock. All rock is great for making walls, stepping stones(if flat enough), low or high walls cemented or not.Good for driveway can put cement between or not. Used in garden for BarBQ, low seating or benches(no painting or upkeep required), odd shaped large rocks or even small ones are lovely among your plants, to divide off sections of garden, herb garden, rose garden, veggie garden etc.firepits are popular work great for those. Entrance posts to garden or to hold gate in place. Find out what it is called before you do anything!! There are lot of types of rock in the U.S. It also make lovely fireplaces inside & some folks use it part or all the way up the outside walls of house. For sure you could use it in many ways & save a lot of money. People always comment on my rocks. WE got our place new but the rocks weren't pretty I was driving by where they were building by foothills & there was all this great rock sitting around. Looked like sunsets asked who was in charge & asked it I could have some. He said sure, take all you want, we have to pay to have them hauled away. I took bottom of my trunk full. My dad had new house too & he got quite a few & did along his walk & to edge bushes in front & back. Went back about 4 days later & they were all gone. Dad's are about 12-15 in. high 4-6 in thick, 12-16 in wide. Going from redish, cream,tan shades, grayish etc.I've always loved what he did with them. I imagine dad told the builder what he was doing & builder came by & saw them & took rest home as don't get beautiful decorative rock like that for nothing at the stone places.Even if it isn't lovely colors it is still great building material!!

Google "types of rock in Conn." They have some interesting types so like I said find out. Take some to college & ask them what it is. But go to the sites, I think 1st 2 were a college, I clicked on 3rd 1 & said Conn has rocks with interesting minerals in them. I don't have time to look & try to find out what type rock was so valuable but I remember the guy was on Martha Stewart & he had some on his property yet.
