Hardly. The egg breeds are notoriously poor mothers. They're generally not broody, and abandon eggs wherever they lay them. The next day, they lay another.

OH NO! My muscovie is a great mother! She'd never abandon her eggs! She sits on them until they hatch! :) She's great! I just wondered when she might lay anymore?

Its common for Scovies to rear a 2nd clutch. They will abandon the 1st brood when they are pretty good size, and begin the nest; not all do tho. Its easy to become overrun with Scovies! They make excellent table fare too.

depends on the duck,
Muscovies are notorious for being broody, but rouens are production ducks and in the three years I had them, they never got broody, just laid an egg every day in a different spot.
