I have an aversion to saving plastic stuff....so I say throw them away. I know that many people store plastic stuff just like it was expensive tupperware and occasionally I am tempted but after having kitchen drawers, shelves full of that junk for so many years, I started tossing and now I buy, when needed, freezer cartons...easier to store, they stack neatly and don't take up a lot of room etc etc... and I don't have tons of plastic junk in my kitchen...I always could think of a dozen uses for say a yogurt container...ugh...I toss those things now with the bat of an eye now.

I was buying the squeeze bottles of orange juice for DH, and he wanted to know why I didn't buy the large jugs and he would refill them. So that's what I did. We recycle them every so often. He also freezes a couple with water in them.

You might could use them to make "cloches" for protecting early plantings.
I also save 2L bottles and fill with water - to have on hand in case power/water goes out during disasters (snow, hurricanes, etc.). Even here in the south, during blizzard of 1993, we lost water.
I put some of the 2L bottles and gallon jugs of water in the deep freeze to conserve energy.

You could use the plastic juice bottles to sow individual seeds into.

Anytime we can recycle plastic one more time before we throw it away, I think it's a good thing.

I agree with ruthieg. I hate having tons of plastic tubs and containers in my kitchen, so I toss containers that margarine, yogurt, etc, comes in, into a plastic garbage bag and store them in my shed for sowing seeds. Saves on buying those little pots and keeps my plastic from the landfills for one more day/month/year.

i use 2-liter bottles to water my tomato plants. i place them upside-down on top of spikey cones that have holes drilled into them. you fill a 2-liter bottle with water, screw it onto a spike, and then jam the spike with the upturned bottle into the soil next to your tomato (or whatever) plant.

i use the small pop/soda bottles with screw-on perforated lids that can be used for watering plants.
