They are great for labelling things that need a permanent label. They can be cut into strips and either written on with a suitable pencil or 'scribed' with a metal point.

I use them to remind me about when I bought a plant, when I repotted, what I crossed with which.

A plus is that they can - with effort - be stapled through to stop busy-fingered people shifting labels around and forgetting where they found them. A blessing when there's a collection of a species and none is in flower!

They can also be tied loosely onto a shrub or tree for quick reference instead of having to stand there saying, 'Oh it's one of Those...you know...I'll find out and let you know!'

What else? Summer sunscreens for those plants I just had to have and it's the middle of a heat wave and the cool is already overcrowded.

And awkward but useful 'baskets' for limpet planting on rocks. Not pretty, but this isn't a show garden at all!

The end pieces are strong enough to use as stakes for plants.I like the idea of using to shade plants from intense sun/heat and would probably work well to help protect from cold as well. You could cut just below the holes where the line goes through and make a fan to use as yard art.
