hi everyone.

i had been watching this muscovy duck since she had laid her eggs and one day i find a dog carring her off and only 6 of the eggs were still intact. well only one managed to make it to the 5th week.

today is day 36 and the baby still hasnt pipped. so this morning i decided to candle it to see what exactly is going on. as i turned the egg over i noticed this large gray area on the shell that takes up the top half of one side of the egg. it doesnt smell or anything, it is just dark. before i stopped turning the egg on day 31 the shell was all white. the baby twitched once when i candled it, but it is 14 hours later and nothing has happened.

What is this random gray spot that has appeared on the egg shell?? is my baby going to die? please help me!!!
