I recommend using a 'porch and floor' paint for a durable solid white finish. Do good prep .first!

Benjamin Moore retailers are very knowledgeable and would be more than happy to give you advice on your painting project. I would give them a call.

Sanding it then applying a couple coats of a premium primer like Benjamin Moore Fresh Start before painting would stop any bleeding from the wood.

I suggest you have a professional floor finisher do this. This is not an easy DIY project, at least for me it's not. Last summer I had a client who wanted to do this on her red oak flooring. If it weren't for the expertise of the floor finisher, it would have been a pink disaster. He had to experiment with 3 or 4 different products before he found the right method, everything kept turning pink. Leave this one to the pros.
