bump

Thanks for the bump. I've had the trees inside for the duration of the ch-ch-chilly weather. With less sunlight they've been dropping leaves but, so far, the little "nads" are still there. I thought they would drop when the tree figured out that it's winter. I guess they'll stay until spring. I hope so; it would be nice to have a genuine home-grown papaya at least once after all the years I've been trying.

Have you any paw-paws yet? Mt trees are 3 years old, nothing but slow growth. Zone 7

Paw-paws? What's a paw-paw?

There are, or were, little things that I described as looking like gonads but I don't know whether they are budding fruit or just a flower that hadn't opened yet.

Each time the weather warms up a bit I put them outside and when it gets cold again I bring them inside the patio door. Whatever flowers they had have fallen off. It's been a while since I've looked closely.

Those flowers are the starting of fruit and they are called paw paws in the caribbean

Thanks for the answer. All the flowers & paw paws fell off. With the spring I planted them all outside. Still losing leaves, poss reaction to transplant. Keepin em wet. We'll see what happens.
