Speaking of trees that aren't known for color, we have fruitless mulberries really putting on a pretty bright yellow show this year. Most years, around here any way, they get hit by a good little freeze and drop every leaf, green as can be, in about 6 hours. This year we are so late with a hard freeze, they are actually giving some good color.

Neat! It's such a large tree (or two?)! We only have a tree here or there with color other than green.

The Birch is just one tree, about 30 years old and considerably taller than the house. There is a small Sycamore Maple cultivar next to it, not a single leaf left, and a Kwanzan Cherry next to that, finally going a dull greeny-gold. A few species have been completely bare for weeks while others only just starting to turn. The Rowans which provide most of our autumn colour were a complete damp squib this year, green to touch-of-yellow to gone. Its been very wet and dull until this week, now its sunny and cold but probably too late to give us much colour.
