The NIH has been involved for quite some time in promoting and funding evidence-based medicine programs in the United States. These programs have been picking up steam around the country, and no doubt the specter of Medicare funding cuts for care that doesn't meet EMB standards will provide further impetus.

And of course advocates of alternative medicine will insist that the same EBM standards apply to alt med if they wish to get public health care dollars.

Won't they?
